Afonso Machado joined the É UM RESTAURANTE Project in 2020 after experiencing a period of heightened psychosocial vulnerability, which was related to substance use and his experience of homelessness.
Following his integration into the project, Afonso restructured his life and has been employed as a kitchen assistant in a restaurant in Lisbon since December 2020.
