ENGLAND
Dominic Williamson is an independent consultant working with local authorities, health services and the voluntary sector to improve policy, partnerships and systems for people facing multiple disadvantages.
Dominic worked for thirty years in organisations providing services to people experiencing homelessness, substance use, trauma and reoffending. Most recently, he was executive director at St Mungo’s (2015 to 2021) with responsibility for policy influencing, research, business insight, quality, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding and client involvement.
Prior to that he was chief executive at Revolving Doors Agency (2009 to 2014) where he worked closely with the National Lottery team on the design of the Fulfilling Lives Programme and supported NHS England in the development and roll out of the national Liaison and Diversion service model.
Dominic’s roles also include director of policy and good practice at Homeless Link, manager of a complex needs hostel at Providence Row, regional manager at Shelter, and as a specialist adviser at MHCLG (now DLUHC).
His recent consultancy projects have included facilitating the Westminster Homelessness Partnership, which brings the council together with service providers from the voluntary and health sectors to work together to tackle rough sleeping. He is an associate of the Ideas Alliance, and through this is supporting CAVDAS, the alliance delivering drug and alcohol services in Cardiff and the Vale in south Wales.
Dominic is passionate about co-production and served as the chair of the board of trustees at Groundswell. He is also interested in how we use data and research to create stories and insights that can inform service innovation, policy development and system change.
