Licensed in Law, he joined the Judiciary Police in 1995 after a brief period practicing as a lawyer. Within the Judiciary Police, he has always been involved in criminal investigation, particularly in the areas of violent and organized crime, terrorism, and all forms of violent extremism, such as: kidnapping, abduction, hostage-taking, armed robbery, arms trafficking, human trafficking, crimes involving explosive devices, and crimes against sovereign state institutions.
He served as Director of the National Counterterrorism Unit (UNCT) and the now-defunct Central Directorate for Combating Banditry (DCCB). He has been the National Director of the Judiciary Police since June 18, 2018.
