Isabel Baptista is an anthropologist (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nova University of Lisbon) with a master’s degree in Urban Sociology (ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon).
Currently, she is an independent researcher with over 20 years of experience coordinating and participating in national and European projects in the field of Poverty and Social Exclusion, with a particular focus on extreme social exclusion phenomena. Since 2018, she has been responsible for the area of social inclusion within the European Social Policy Network (ESPAN) and has been collaborating with the European Observatory on Homelessness of FEANTSA since 2003. At the national level, she regularly collaborates with the National Strategy for the Integration of People in Homeless Situations (ENIPSSA), notably through her participation in the Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation Group of the Strategy (GIMAE).
