Margarida Pais holds a degree in Social Work from the Higher Institute of Social Work of Coimbra.
She began her professional career at the Municipality of Ponta Delgada, where she worked as a Senior Social Work Technician between 1995 and 2001. She also served as President of the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People of Ponta Delgada and, from 2001 to 2022, held the position of Head of the Social Action Division of the same municipality.
